Author Guidelines

Style Guide

Manuscripts must be written in English, and typed double-spaced with 2.5 cm (1 inch) margins on each side of A4, font size 10 pt, in no more than 20 manuscript pages including tables and illustrations. The recommended overall length is 8–12 pages. Each page must be numbered. All measurements and data should be expressed in SI units.

All articles should be divided into clearly defined and numbered sections (1., 1.1., 1.2., …). The abstract is not included in section numbering.

Order of the manuscript

  1. Title, author's name, affiliation, full postal address, telephone, fax and e-mail (corresponding author identified by e-mail)
  2. Abstract of about 100–150 words in a single paragraph (purpose, scope and conclusions)
  3. About five keywords for indexing
  4. Text with tables and figures under suitable headings and subheadings
  5. Acknowledgment (if any)
  6. Appendix
  7. References

References

Cite by last name(s) and year, e.g. (Bendat and Piersol, 1959). List alphabetically by first author's last name:

  • Journal: Jeary, A. P. (1986). "Damping in buildings - a mechanism and a predictor." Journal of Earthquake Engineering and Structural Dynamics, 14, pp. 733~750.

Tables, Figures and Equations

Tables and figures are numbered consecutively with short captions and referred to as Table 1 / Figure 1. Figures must be camera-ready. Equations are numbered consecutively in parentheses on the right-hand side and referred to as Eq. (1).

Procedure and Fees

Paper review fee: USD 150. Paper publishing fee: USD 300 (bank transfer; details are provided after submission). Manuscripts requiring revision are returned with the reviewers' reports; a revised version returned after four months is treated as a new submission subject to full reassessment. After final acceptance an MS-Word file must be submitted. A layout proof is sent to the first-named author and should be returned within one week; corrections at this stage are restricted to typesetting errors.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before submitting, please confirm:

  • The manuscript is written in English, double-spaced on A4 with 2.5 cm margins, 10 pt font, 8–12 pages (max 20) including tables and figures, with numbered pages.
  • The completed IJHRB Submission Form is uploaded together with the manuscript.
  • The manuscript follows the required order: title/authors/affiliations · abstract (100–150 words) · about five keywords · text · acknowledgment · appendix · references (author–year style).
  • All measurements are in SI units; tables, figures and equations are numbered consecutively.
  • You agree to the Transfer of Copyright upon acceptance and acknowledge the review fee (USD 150) and publishing fee (USD 300).
